Distractions

“I hope we go out for mexican food after worship.”
“Aw, that baby is soooo cute!!”
“The preacher preaches mighty long this morning..”
I know all of these things have passed through my mind during worship. What about yours?

1st Corinthians 11:28 says “Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup.” The church in Corinth had many, many problems. One of them being that they judged one another more than they judged themselves. Paul encouraged them to change their ways.

“Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you.” Proverbs‬ ‭4:25‬
I know my main goal in life is to get to Heaven. (Rev 2:10) How can we do that if we’re focused on worldly things? If you were training for the olympics, you wouldn’t go out and mess up all your training by eating cake or pizza, would you? Of course not. Surrounding ourselves with worldly distractions is doing just that to us.

There’s many many more types of distractions in our walks as Christians. Let’s not let any of them get in our way.
